About the role

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support its fast-growing HVAC business in North America. The company is committed to the health and safety of its employees, customers, partners, and communities. As a Johnson Controls mechanic, you'll work on light commercial and/or heavy commercial teams with advanced equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Partner with Journeymen in repairing centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency.
  • Offer solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding facility inefficiencies and service-related issues.
  • Enroll in training programs to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
  • Work with other local market mechanics, Servicemen, and apprentices.

Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Able to use tools such as dial indicators, vibration equipment, and shaft alignment equipment.
  • Travel may be required up to 20% to support branch customers' activities.
  • Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license.

  • Self-starter with a passion for learning and applying on the job.
