Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, dismantle and repair all types of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and related equipment.
- Locate and repair mechanical or electrical failures in HVAC equipment.
- Reassemble, test, and adjust HVAC equipment to ensure proper operating characteristics.
- Clean, paint, and secure equipment for optimal operation.
- Make necessary mechanical repairs and perform mechanical tests.
- Change filters as scheduled or as needed.
- Fabricate parts as required using common tools.
- Inspect and test HVAC and related equipment to determine extent of damage and repair needs.
- Analyze drawings, wiring, and schematic diagrams to determine material or replacement needs, assembly specifications, and methods.
- Plan and perform work requiring a thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, HVAC principles, and operational equipment.
- Maintain performance and maintenance records of HVAC equipment.
- Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on building equipment as required.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control issues and load programs.
- Perform other related duties such as managing Building Management control systems, ordering computerized inventory and repair parts.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- AIR Certification for HVAC Technician-Type: Universal.
- Ten years of previous hands-on HVAC experience.
- Knowledge and experience in commercial HVAC applications.
- Understanding of the National Electrical Code, New York State Uniform Building and Fire Prevention Code, NFPA, and OSHA.
- Thorough understanding of controls, chillers, boilers, air filtration, dust collection, and HEPA filtering systems, pipefitting, and sheet metal installation and repairs.
- In-depth experience in commercial/industrial systems, 480/208V 3-Ph. Systems, 3 Ph. Motor wiring, motor and electrical control systems.
- Proficient in copper, PVC, and T&C piping.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, electrical theory, electronics, mathematics, mechanical drawing, electrical code requirements, and safety and first aid practices.
- Knowledge and experience in subjects such as HVAC-heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and plumbing.
- Ability to read, interpret, and implement architectural, engineering, and design drawings.
- Experience overseeing work performed by subcontractors.
- Broad HVAC training, using testing equipment, gauges, precision instruments, and required tools.
- Knowledge and experience in using tools for HVAC projects.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Proven ability to act as a lead HVAC Technician and mentor other HVAC Technicians.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

- Must be well versed in safety procedures when performing HVAC/electrical work.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have good physical stamina and mental attitude.
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
- Must be able to work in various conditions including temperatures below 32°F and above 90°F.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces and areas of considerable height.
- Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment.
- Must have good eye-hand coordination, excellent eyesight, and manual dexterity.
Benefits
Salary starting rate: $32.00 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education. Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
