Monday - Friday; 30 hours/week; may require numerous evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the college and program. Classes can occur in the mornings and evenings.

Essential Functions
- Provide classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction in HVAC and related Construction Trades courses in alignment with approved curriculum and industry standards.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate course materials, assessments, and instructional activities to support student learning and workforce readiness.
- Maintain a safe instructional environment in compliance with OSHA and college safety requirements.
- Assess student performance, maintain accurate records, and provide timely feedback.
- Participate in the Applied Technology Instructional Council and collaborate with department leadership on curriculum, credential review, and program improvement.
- Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress, career pathways, and industry certifications.
- Engage in professional development, college service, and industry partnerships to remain current in HVAC and construction trades.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR
- Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor’s degree or higher OR
- A Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field
- A Journeyman certification in the field to be taught
Desired Qualifications
- A. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a closely related field, or a minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in the HVAC industry.
- B. Five (5) years of hands-on experience in HVAC air conditioning systems, including commercial and industrial applications.
- C. Five (5) years of related field experience in medium- to low-temperature commercial refrigeration systems, including supermarket refrigeration and residential systems, where applicable.
- D. Five (5) years of electrical technology experience, including troubleshooting and working with computer-based controls and automation systems.
- E. Demonstrated knowledge of current HVAC codes, safety standards, and/or industry best practices.
- F. Prior teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience preferred.
- G. One (1) year full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years.
