HVAC Sheetmetal/ Fiberglass Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and submittal data to execute accurate installations
• Perform basic layout tasks including duct hanger placement and equipment positioning
• Install sheet metal and duct board systems, including elbows, offsets, and plenums
• Accurately cut and measure ductwork materials for both metal and fiberglass installations
• Operate independently with direction from the Foreman
• Train and supervise helpers on tasks when the Foreman is engaged
• Maintain safe and clean working conditions on the job site
• Adhere to current mechanical codes, safety standards, and best practices
• Communicate clearly with the Foreman and team to keep projects on track

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC experience required
• Strong ability to read blueprints and submittals
• Skilled in sheet metal and fiberglass (duct board) fabrication and installation
• Must be able to work unsupervised once given direction
• Able to train and direct helpers efficiently
• Required Certifications: OSHA 30, Forklift & Material Lift Certification, Crane Signal Certification (preferred)
• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
