Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, air handlers, split systems, VRF systems, cooling towers, and building automation controls.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on commercial equipment.
- Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
- Test electrical components, motors, compressors, and control systems using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, including work orders, materials used, and service reports.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding system performance and repair recommendations.
- Follow all OSHA regulations, safety policies, and company procedures.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in proper working order.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED required; HVAC technical school training preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with large-tonnage equipment and controls preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
