HVAC Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose and repair units using a variety of hand tools, following blueprints, wiring and piping diagrams, or engineering specifications.
• Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment and service gauges.
• Possess excellent troubleshooting skills to component level.
• Inspect system to verify system compliance with plans and specifications.
• Complete routine maintenance and operation of HVAC systems and any other related equipment, which contributes to the safe and effective operation of facilities.
• Maintain quality of work, performance and productivity standards.
• Perform repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of commercial HVAC systems.
• Record temperature, pressure, and other readings on log sheet at specified intervals.
• Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
• May be required to work varying schedules and shifts to reflect the business needs of the Company.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in HVAC preferred.
• EPA Certified.
• 7 to 10 years of Commercial/Industrial HVAC service experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in various environmental conditions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• May be required to work varying schedules and shifts to reflect the business needs of the Company.
• Building controls – ATC Temperature Electronic and Pneumatic controls.

Physical Demands

• Frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing, standing, walking, reaching, and gripping.
• Lifting from floor level to overhead.
