Position Summary
The skilled HVAC Service Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and starting up a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role is ideal for a seasoned technician with strong diagnostic ability, sound judgment in the field, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
- Service, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC equipment and systems
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues in the field
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, emergency service, and after-hours shutdowns
- Complete equipment start-ups in accordance with manufacturer requirements
- Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Work on applied and unitary HVAC systems across a variety of customer sites
- Document all work performed accurately using mobile work order software, including ServiceTrade
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal team members
- Identify additional repair or service needs and communicate findings clearly
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area on every job
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation with flexibility as required
- Travel throughout Arizona as needed
Qualifications
- 4–8 years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC service experience required
- Universal EPA Certification required
- HVAC technical training preferred; advanced education and factory training are a plus
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet insurance requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proven ability to manage service calls professionally and efficiently
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and accountability
Preferred Experience
- Chiller service experience; factory training or certifications preferred
- Critical cooling systems experience; factory training or certifications preferred
- Boiler service experience
- Hydronic pump systems, applications, troubleshooting, and start-up
- Line sets and brazing techniques
- Experience reading and interpreting diagrams and schematics
- Experience completing manufacturer start-up procedures
- Experience working in a fast-paced service environment with emergency response demands
