About the role
CES is seeking an HVAC/R Service Technician II with chiller experience to perform a range of HVAC/R jobs for industrial and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will be decisive, courteous, dependable, and capable of taking initiative while communicating effectively with all customer groups.
Responsibilities
- Conduct HVAC/R servicing jobs promptly, professionally, and efficiently.
- Perform routine HVAC/R service activities.
- Prepare Service Tickets by collecting all required information, notes, and signatures while on the customer site.
- Recognize potential revenue leads by communicating additional services with the customer, such as unit components, unit replacements, add-on units, and commercial service contracts.
- Develop and refer customer leads to the CES Sales team.
- Conduct non-service related support for the Installation Departments, as assigned.
- Perform related duties as directed by the Service Manager.
- Lead project repairs or replacements, as assigned.
- Demonstrate proper use of Safety Equipment at all times.
- Manage time and workload effectively.
- Work overtime/weekends, as needed.
- Ensure company vehicle is clean and well-maintained at all times.
- Comply with safe driving practices while driving a company vehicle (use of cellular phone while driving is prohibited).
- Participate in an On Call rotation.
- Provide customers with estimated quotes for small-to-medium projects.
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of successful experience in commercial service with at least three (3) different manufacturer's equipment.
- Minimum three (3) years experience with air-cooled chillers, ice machines, chilled water units, light building automation, rooftop units, split systems, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF), and boilers.
- Chiller experience is required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Graduate of a post-secondary HVACR program of instruction with two or more years in duration.
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification required.
- Valid Florida Driver's License is required; must be insurable by CES insurance carrier.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred but not required.
- Must not have a fear of heights (Acrophobia).

- Ability to meet time schedules, deadlines, and plan and organize work efficiently.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
- Able to work collaboratively with others using tact, patience, and professional courtesy.
- Ability to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, and communicate customer needs concisely during backlog constraints.
Schedule
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Participation in an On Call rotation.
