About the Role

Jenkins Plumbing and Heating Co is seeking a driven, customer-focused HVAC & Plumbing Sales Consultant to join our established business development team. In this critical field-sales position, you will take ownership of identifying client needs, estimating system designs, and selling high-value residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing service agreements. This position is designed for an ambitious sales professional who wants to build a long-term career with a respected, community-centered mechanical contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate, expand, and maintain strong professional relationships with residential property owners, commercial facility managers, and business accounts.
  • Actively generate new project revenue through strategic prospecting, community networking, and structural trade referrals.
  • Conduct technical on-site building assessments to analyze customer plumbing and HVAC constraints, engineering tailored mechanical solutions.
  • Prepare, calculate, and present comprehensive project proposals, cost estimates, and technical service contracts to clients.
  • Partner directly with mechanical estimators, installation crews, and service teams to ensure flawless field execution and client handoffs.
  • Stay continually informed on emerging mechanical system products, regional pricing variables, industry trends, and competitive market positioning.
  • Participate in strategic corporate sales promotions and performance contests to maximize individual contract yields.

Requirements

  • Previous professional experience executing residential or commercial HVAC, plumbing, or closely related technical home service sales is preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills with a natural capability for building rapid customer rapport and closing service accounts.
  • Functional ability to read, interpret, and understand HVAC and plumbing system layouts, building blueprints, and material specifications.
  • A high self-motivation with a disciplined focus on tracking, meeting, and exceeding performance benchmarks and revenue goals.
  • Comfortable navigating standard business tech suites, mobile tablets, smartphones, and corporate CRM systems.
  • A valid Driver’s License is strictly required to secure company vehicle eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Previous professional experience executing residential or commercial HVAC, plumbing, or closely related technical home service sales is preferred.
  • Communication Mastery: Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills with a natural capability for building rapid customer rapport and closing service accounts.
  • Technical Document Literacy: Functional ability to read, interpret, and understand HVAC and plumbing system layouts, building blueprints, and material specifications.

  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable navigating standard business tech suites, mobile tablets, smartphones, and corporate CRM systems.
