HVAC Mechanic, Senior

Position Description

Join our team as a Senior HVAC Mechanic and take the lead in creating comfortable environments with your expertise. We're seeking a seasoned professional who's passionate about heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Performs routine preventative and corrective maintenance to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems as well as pumps and energy management systems.
• Installs, and tests HVAC systems for laboratory, administrative, and residential buildings.
• Maintains and repairs chillers, pumps, cooling towers, boilers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, electromechanical control systems, and other mechanical systems.
• Orders necessary supplies and materials from approved vendors.
• Troubleshoots and solves routine and complex maintenance problems.
• Reclaims, recycles, and adds CFC and HCFC refrigerants to air conditioning and refrigeration systems in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Operates computer-controlled building management systems.
• Troubleshoots complex building management systems.
• Interacts with other trades, scientific staff, vendors, contractors, and the Laboratory’s administration on the performance of job duties.
• Performs after hours on call services and weekend coverage as required.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
• A refrigerant technician license preferred.
• Experience: Must have ten years experience in the areas of mechanics, HVAC, and equipment controls maintenance and repair.
• Other: Valid driver's license is required. Ability to work independently with little supervision.

The hourly rate for this role is $36.85-$40.74. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
