HVAC Lead Service Technician

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Service Technician IV to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead up to 10 HVAC Technicians
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective start-up of maintenance contracts, and efficient and timely installation of jobs, providing maintenance according to contract requirements
  • Resolve customer concerns/complaints in a timely manner
  • Perform ongoing review of contracts/projects, implementing corrective actions to ensure costs are consistent with financial plans
  • Negotiate subcontract agreements as required and serve as a primary contact
  • Utilize the Service Management System and contract review process to establish an effective work plan which maximizes team capabilities and ensures prompt customer service
  • Perform and/or provide expert counsel on scheduled, preventive maintenance on any equipment/system under contract agreement
  • Respond to or assist other Service Technicians with emergency service calls to minimize system downtime
  • Provide counsel, coaching, and leadership for troubleshooting, repairing, and restoring equipment/systems to full operation
  • Recommend revisions, replacements, or upgrades for effectiveness or in cases of obsolescence
  • Support Sales by assisting with job site surveys, reviewing estimates for accuracy, and participating in sales promotion programs
  • Provide technical training and guidance, and participate in the Estimate Review Process as required
  • Contribute to accident and illness prevention by ensuring safe work practices and a safe work environment
  • Provide safety training as required by OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
  • Provide timely, proactive feedback to reinforce positive results or reduce potential callbacks
  • Actively participate in performance evaluations of Service Technicians, providing feedback on technical skills, attitude, thoroughness, teamwork, and developmental suggestions
  • Maintain current knowledge and provide training on all Daikin Applied products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
  • Regular local travel requirements with some overnight travel

Qualifications

  • 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
  • Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
  • OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
  • Current first aid / CPR card

Pay

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.40 - $56.96 in TX. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
