Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Service Technician IV to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Responsibilities will grow based on task exposure, troubleshooting skill development, and consistent assignment completion. Equipment includes large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead up to 10 HVAC Technicians
- Ensure timely and cost-effective start-up of maintenance contracts and efficient installation of jobs, adhering to contract requirements and resolving customer concerns promptly
- Perform ongoing review of contracts/projects, implementing corrective actions to align costs with financial plans
- Negotiate subcontract agreements as required and serve as primary contact
- Utilize the Service Management System to establish effective work plans, maximizing team capabilities and ensuring contract commitments are met
- Perform and/or provide expert counsel on scheduled, preventive maintenance for contracted equipment/systems
- Respond to or assist with emergency service calls to minimize system downtime; provide leadership, troubleshoot, repair, and restore equipment to full operation
- Recommend revisions, replacements, or upgrades for effectiveness or obsolescence
- Support Sales by assisting with job site surveys, reviewing estimates, participating in sales promotion programs, and providing technical training
- Contribute to accident and illness prevention by implementing safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment; provide safety training as required
- Provide timely, proactive feedback to reinforce positive results or reduce potential callbacks
- Actively participate in performance evaluations of Service Technicians, offering feedback on technical skills, attitude, teamwork, and development
- Maintain current knowledge and provide training on all Daikin Applied products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
- Regular local travel with some overnight travel required
Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
- Required license(s) and/or training card as mandated by local law district
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification, as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
- Previous experience mentoring less experienced technicians
- OSHA 10 certification within 90 days of hire (provided during onboarding)
- Current first aid / CPR card

Pay
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.40 - $56.96 in TX. The range reflects pay for all positions in this job grade. Individual base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
