HVAC Lead Service Technician

In this full-time Service Technician IV role, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Responsibilities increase based on exposure to tasks, troubleshooting skill development, and consistent completion of assignments. Equipment serviced includes large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.
Location: Lubbock or Amarillo, TX (onsite with local travel and some overnight travel).
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead up to 10 HVAC Technicians.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective start-up of maintenance contracts and installation of jobs, providing maintenance according to contract requirements and resolving customer concerns/complaints promptly.
- Perform ongoing review of contracts/projects, implementing corrective actions to align costs with financial plans; negotiate subcontract agreements and serve as primary contact.
- Utilize the Service Management System and contract review process to establish effective work plans, maximize team capabilities, and ensure contract commitments are met.
- Perform and/or provide expert counsel on scheduled, preventive maintenance for equipment/systems under contract by inspecting and ensuring satisfactory working order.
- Respond to or assist with emergency service calls to minimize system downtime; provide leadership, troubleshoot, repair, and restore equipment/systems to full operation; recommend revisions/replacements/upgrades as needed.
- Support Sales by assisting with job site surveys, reviewing estimates for accuracy, participating in sales promotion programs, and providing technical training and guidance; participate in the Estimate Review Process as required.
- Contribute to accident and illness prevention by implementing safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment; provide safety training as required by OSHA and Daikin Applied policies.
- Provide timely, proactive feedback to reinforce positive results or reduce potential callbacks due to similar incidents.
- Actively participate in performance evaluations of Service Technicians, providing feedback on technical skills, attitude, thoroughness, teamwork, and developmental suggestions.
- Stay current and provide training on all Daikin Applied products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Rotational Emergency Call Support as required.
- Required license(s) and/or training card as mandated by local law district.
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification, as necessary.
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial HVAC Industry Experience.
- Previous experience mentoring less experienced technicians.
- OSHA 10 certification within 90 days of hire (provided during onboarding).
- Current first aid / CPR card.

Pay
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.40 - $56.96 in TX. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade. Individual base pay will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
