About the role

Responsibilities
- Work on a team under supervision to execute new construction projects, primarily for commercial spaces.
- Install mechanical and HVAC systems.
- Observe and implement safe work practices and OSHA Guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, foreman and project manager.
- Adhere to all Federal, State, and local codes and regulations.
- Manage activities of the project at job sites.
- Maintain maintenance records as required by company, city, state, and EPA regulations.
- Install mechanical systems in new build, renovation projects, tenant finish, service, etc.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools and test equipment utilized in the trade.
- Display professional company image.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions during all seasons.
Requirements
- Journeyman license certification.
- Possession of valid driver’s license with a good record of driving.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the International Mechanical Code (IMC), National Fuel and Gas Code (NFGC), OSHA guidelines, and safe work practices.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to distinguish between various HVAC equipment and components.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or within a team.
- Able to work on weekends, at night, or to work overtime as required.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of electrical, concrete, wood, masonry & metal methods.
- Experienced in basic preventive maintenance and trouble-shooting problems & repairs.
- Able to add, subtract, divide & use mechanical formulas accurately.
- Able to work at heights of up to 90 feet (from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, roofs or other safe elevated workspaces).
- Able to work in tight spaces, such as switchgear rooms, and crawl spaces.
- Knowledgeable of how mechanical systems that interact with electrical systems to provide safe operating systems.
- Inspection of subcontractor performance to ensure it meets contract agreements & schedules.
- Conducts project closeouts, updates punch lists, and develops information for record drawings.
- Constantly updates job skills through continued training.
- Understand job cost report and analyze the project for areas of improvement.
- Eliminate or reduce legal risk on projects.
- Knowledgeable and takes action to reduce jobs accidents.
- Train, mentor, discipline & evaluate subordinates & subcontractors.
- Manage one or more crews on different types of construction projects.
- Professionally represents the company at job meetings.
- Ability to recognize and capture change orders.
