Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level service to resolve building inefficiencies and service-related issues.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during service.
  • Train and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
  • Participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy to build skill sets.
  • Develop troubleshooting and customer needs resolution skills through coaching and mentorship.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of job progress and issues.
  • Maintain attendance for required Union training for the first year.
  • Make recommendations and provide solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
  • Prepare quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • At least 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally.
  • Leadership skills to support mechanics on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize safety in all forms.
  • A valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Prior to employment, must be able to pass a pre-hiring screening by JCI.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.

Benefits

The position is a Bargaining Unit Position with benefits provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. This position is subject to all pre-hiring screening by JCI. Successful performance may lead to recommendation for the Union Local apprenticeship program and continued employment at JCI. Acceptance by the Union Local must occur within 365 days of employment or termination of the position will occur. This is not a guarantee of employment or entering the Union. The Union has its own entry, qualification, and screening programs. However, exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
