What You Will Do

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking forward-thinking talent to support the fast-growing HVAC business in North America. As a trusted advisor, you will work on light commercial and/or heavy commercial teams with advanced equipment. Your role involves servicing commercial heating and cooling systems, performing maintenance, repairs, and replacements. You will also provide solutions and recommendations to ensure facilities run efficiently, and you will be involved in quoting and selling services.

How Will You Do It

  • Work on light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment with practical troubleshooting experience.
  • Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open-drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial HVACR systems.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions, focusing on facility efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Invest in career development through training programs and ongoing education in HVAC products and sales quoting.

Required

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Minimum of three (3) years commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing, and mechanical shaft alignment.
  • Able to use vibration equipment and perform mechanical shaft alignment, as well as troubleshoot drivelines using dial indicators and other tools.
  • Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies in HVAC products and services.
  • Travel up to 20% to support branch customers' activities, trouble-shooting, installation, and repair.
  • Able to write and communicate effectively about facility issues, causes, and corrective actions to customers.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of your work.
  • Hold a Universal EPA refrigerants license, relevant state or local licenses, and possess a valid driver's license.
