About the role
Specialty Air Conditioning is a locally owned company in Springfield, MO, with over 29 years of experience. We partner with Meriton, a national HVAC manufacturer representative, offering local leadership with national resources and long-term stability.
Responsibilities
- Ability to troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial and light industrial HVAC systems
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues with RTUs, split systems, economizers, VFDs, and controls
- Perform start-ups, commissioning, and retrofits to improve system performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications
- Communicate clearly with customers, project managers, and office staff
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Work independently while supporting and guiding junior technicians when needed
- Deliver quality workmanship, professionalism, and integrity every day
- Participate in on-call rotation and occasional overtime
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and work in field conditions
- Comfort working on rooftops, ladders, and in tight spaces
- Ability to stand, kneel, and work for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work
- Commitment to following all safety procedures and codes
Qualifications
- EPA Universal Certification
- 2–10 years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Experience with Daikin, Carrier, Trane, Lennox, or similar systems
- Knowledge of VRF systems, VFDs, and building automation controls
- Comfortable mentoring or supporting less-experienced technicians
- Solid customer service and communication skills
- Basic technology skills (mobile apps, service documentation)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Pay
Hourly, Non-Exempt (Full-Time)
$28–$38/hour, based on experience
Schedule
Monday–Friday with on-call rotation and overtime opportunities
