About the role
The Human Services Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the Forensic Services team at DCT in St. Peter. This position involves developing, implementing, and evaluating support plans and treatment plans for assigned clients, observing and documenting client responses, and providing direct care services.
Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating support plans and treatment plans for assigned clients.
- Observing, interpreting, and documenting client responses to treatment and training interventions and communicating unusual or unexpected reactions or outcomes to program supervisors and other team members.
- Providing general client supervision and addressing crisis situations that present a risk to the health and safety of clients (e.g., CPR, first aid, emergency physical intervention).
- Providing direct care services and support to clients sufficient to ensure they are well fed, cared for, in good health, and included in decisions, as appropriate.
- Performing basic health care procedures, such as negotiation, redirection, etc., to control and diffuse aggressive violent, and inappropriate behavior.
- Intervening in emergency situations.
- Avoiding conflict and control issues whenever possible and teaching clients similar strategies.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Transporting clients as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Diploma.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Experience in direct care, training, treatment, support, and leisure activities.
- Ability to develop and implement support plans and treatment plans.
- Knowledge of basic health care procedures and emergency response techniques.
- Ability to observe, interpret, and document client responses.
- Effective communication and crisis management skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Ability to transport clients as needed.
Skills

Pay
$25.18 - $32.23 per hour; $52,575 - $67,296 annually.
Schedule
Rotating shift, 6a-2p; 2p-10p; occasional 8a-4.
