Boulder County’s Department of Human Services is looking to hire a dynamic group of Human Services Eligibility Technician B staff to be part of our lobby team. As the first point of contact for residents seeking information or assistance with public benefit programs, you will play an important role in creating a positive, welcoming experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Lobby technicians perform the full journey-level Eligibility Technician B duties: gathering and reviewing information, assisting applicants with forms and documents, explaining program requirements and rights, entering and verifying data in the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS), and processing initial and ongoing eligibility for Medical Assistance programs, all in a high-volume, in-person environment. This role allows you to apply your eligibility expertise while directly supporting community members face-to-face.

Our lobby staff are friendly professionals who greet residents, answer questions, accept paperwork, ensure it reaches the right team, and help process paperwork accurately. As the “face” of our team, you help set the tone for the services we provide and make a lasting impression on our community.

Required Qualifications

  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    • Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of:
    • High school graduation or equivalent
    • AND
    • 2 (two) years of experience working with the public
    • Additional related education may count towards required experience.
  • BACKGROUND CHECK: A job offer is contingent on passing a background investigation.

Supplemental Information

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1 (one) year in a public assistance program
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Working knowledge of public assistance programs and other community agencies that provide assistance to clients; Skill in communicating verbally and in writing; Skill in interviewing; Ability to work effectively with other employees, difficult clients, and the public
