Who We Are: Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a customer service focused and technology savvy human resources (HR) administrative professional eager to provide HR support in a high-volume, fast-paced department of 600+ employees!
The successful incumbent will be a part of our MHSS HR team dedicated to attracting, rewarding, and retaining a high-quality workforce to serve our clients!
Duties
- Answering routine HR questions
- Timely and accurately entering personnel actions in the human resources information system (HRIS) Workday
- Retrieving data and reports from the HRIS
- Creating and maintaining electronic files (personnel, recruitment, etc)
- Creating and/or updating HR forms
- Aiding in reviewing and processing human resources documents
- Aiding in posting positions in the recruitment management system; applicant tracking
- Maintaining and tracking human resources data using spreadsheets
- Aiding in conducting fingerprinting for background checks and electronically submitting Child Protective Services (CPS) forms
- Aiding in coordinating and conducting the departmental new hire employee orientation
- Performing special projects and other work as required.
Additional Requirements
- Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures
- Of principles and procedures of data entry
- Of principles and procedures of record keeping
- Ability to implement and maintain standard filing systems
- To prepare routine correspondence and memoranda
- To communicate effectively orally and in writing
- To operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment
- To develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
- Strong organizational skills preferred
- Strong writing skills preferred
- Working knowledge of electronic filing systems and records management preferred
- Ability to work in a complex organizational structure and deadline driven environment preferred
