Human Resources Technician 2
Location: Golden Valley
Telework eligible after successful completion of probation. Part-time (20 hours a week), unlimited position.
About the role
The Human Resources Technician 2 provides technical HR support to the Perpich Center for Arts Education, including recruitment and onboarding, personnel transactions, HR records and reporting, employee benefits, leave administration, workers’ compensation, and other HR programs. The position works closely with the Human Resources Director to provide accurate, timely, and responsive HR services to employees and managers.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment, selection, staffing, or employee onboarding
- Processing personnel transactions or maintaining employee information in a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) or similar electronic system
- Benefits, leave administration, workers’ compensation, payroll, or other employee HR programs
- Maintaining confidential personnel, medical, recruitment, or other human resources records
- Preparing, reviewing, auditing, or reconciling HR data, transactions, reports, or documentation
Requirements
- Two (2) years of human resources experience that includes experience in at least three of the listed responsibility areas
- Customer service and interpersonal skills sufficient to provide accurate and timely information and establish effective working relationships with employees, applicants, managers, and other customers
- Organizational, analytical, and computer skills sufficient to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, research discrepancies, and use programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using SEMA4, PeopleSoft, or a similar HRIS
- Human resources experience in a State of Minnesota agency, public-sector organization, or unionized environment
- Knowledge of employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, personnel policies, and HR procedures
Additional Requirements

The background check may consist of criminal history, license/certification verification, and employment reference/records checks.
Pay
$24.84 - $34.84 / hourly
Schedule
- Part-time (20 hours a week)
- Day shift (8am - 12pm; flexible)
- Monday - Friday
- No travel required
