About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Specialist to support the daily operations of our HR department. This position plays a key role in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and personnel record management. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, maintain confidentiality, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Support employee relations by responding to questions and addressing workplace concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Process employment verifications, personnel actions, and HR documentation.
  • Assist with performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Support payroll administration by tracking employee changes and ensuring accurate records.
  • Coordinate training programs and maintain training documentation.
  • Generate HR reports and metrics as needed.
  • Participate in special HR projects and continuous process improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of human resources, recruiting, benefits, or administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
  • Experience with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience supporting a multi-site or growing organization.

Pay

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and skills
