About the role

The Human Resources Specialist supports the Human Resources department in various functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, talent development, compliance with labor laws, and data reporting. This role works closely with employees and management to foster a positive work environment and ensure effective HR practices.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up the pre-employment process, including scheduling drug tests, background and credit checks, and overseeing onboarding to ensure accurate and timely completion of all required new employee/contractor paperwork and its entry into the HRIS system.
  • Primary responsibility among team for monitoring the HR department inbox. Respond to general/common inquiries and forward or escalate specific and/or complex matters to appropriate HR team member for resolution.
  • Manage internal employee announcements and coordinate sending of gifts for events including births, deaths, and retirements.
  • Collect and analyze HR data, including employee turnover and recruitment metrics.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on key HR performance indicators (KPIs) to HR team.
  • Maintain HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance review process, employee handbook acknowledgement, benefits open enrollment, etc.
  • Aid in developing and supporting culture events.
  • Cook up and assist with projects, presentations, and reports for team as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of general Human Resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Degree in Human Resources program preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and PHR preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency with business collaboration tools such as MS Office applications, Outlook and function specific applications including HRIS and ATS systems.
  • Superior internal and external customer service and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated to the challenge of helping other people.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters.
  • Excellent organizational and time/task management skills with the ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Foundation and knowledge of principles and practice of HR including employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience with talent acquisition coordination a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to follow compliance and company regulations when working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and meet process deadlines.
  • Ability to schedule meetings with complex calendars.

Pay

PAY RANGE: $22.10 - $33.20 hourly
