About the Role

The Human Resource Specialist oversees the onboarding of new hires by managing pre-employment requirements, maintaining employee files, and working with stakeholders to ensure proper staffing. In addition to supporting new hires, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate records for current staff, ensuring compliance with district policies. The Specialist plays a key part in fostering a smooth onboarding experience while supporting the district's ongoing staffing needs.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing the pre-employment process, ensuring end-to-end new hire process completion for all candidates
  • Implementing HR onboarding including I-9, backgrounds, and all required documentation
  • Confirming Position Control Number and vacancy, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing employee data, ensuring accurate and timely data entry with strong problem-solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve)
  • Processing accurate data management while collaborating with various departments
  • Managing position allocation reports and sharing data with business partners
  • Participating in position allocation review and budget planning process
  • Managing processes that enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention across the district
  • Communicating professionally with team members and internal/external business partners
  • Collaborating with various teams, identifying challenges, and implementing solutions that support a positive and inclusive HR experience
  • Supporting a comprehensive onboarding program that ensures a smooth transition for new hires into the district's culture and operations
  • Providing exceptional communication and customer service while working closely with various departments to align with each department's needs and goals
  • Managing multiple tasks and varying deadlines
  • Handling multiple projects and other duties as assigned as it pertains to the ongoing success of this position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Experience working with ERP LINQ, Powerschool, Microsoft Suite
  • HR experience in the K-12 education sector
