About the role

This position oversees and provides day-to-day management, support, and reporting for the HRIS system, facilitates payroll activities, and ensures compliance with HR policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Administer weekly payroll consistently and correctly, rectifying any payroll and Kronos issues.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding HRIS and payroll policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Track, maintain, and complete HRIS reporting regarding tax credits, bonuses, hourly wages, headcount, and turnover.
  • Administer and manage the Workers Compensation program.
  • Assist VP of HR with projects and maintain confidentiality.
  • Review, update, and have access to employee compensation within the organization.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, and produce products in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Quality Food Program standards.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or commensurate experience.
  • 2+ years of HR experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on management expertise and experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HRIS certification.
  • Payroll certification.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office setting with occasional exposure to industrial operations, including:

  • Temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F.
  • Noise levels in excess of 85 dB.
  • Moisture and moving machinery.
