Human Resources Specialist
About the role
The Human Resources Specialist will handle and provide support for various HR employee programs within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in Workday in a timely fashion.
- Maintains listing of approved hires and tracks terminations with proper communication.
- Develops and distributes various reports.
- Effectively communicates with internal employees and managers regarding Human Resources processes.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of Cambria's benefits and answers employee questions.
- Files forms in personnel files, distributes mail, and assists with unemployment claims.
- Participates in meetings and assists in improving processes.
- Handles ad hoc projects assigned based on business needs.
- Escalates issues to the Human Resources Director when necessary.
- Maintains a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.
Requirements
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing, proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and sense of urgency.
- Excellent customer relations skills, with the ability to relate effectively and sensitively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to partner with key stakeholders to improve processes.
- Positive and self-motivated individual who can work independently.
- Basic knowledge of employment laws.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 0-3 years in Human Resources.
- Systems: Strong computer proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel), Google Suite, and Workday experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Office position requiring telephone and computer use.
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally (office supplies, packages, samples).
- May need to bend, reach, walk, or stoop occasionally.
- Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
Minimal travel between local Cambria locations.
Pay
Cambria’s starting hourly range for this position is $25.00-$33.00/hour. Hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the target for new hires. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
