About the role
RJ Schinner, a growing, family-owned wholesale redistributor with over 70 years of success, seeks an HR Recruiting Intern to support the Human Resources department with a primary focus on operations recruiting and candidate engagement. This internship offers hands-on experience throughout the recruiting process, including sourcing candidates, conducting initial phone screens, coordinating interviews, communicating with applicants, and supporting recruiting initiatives for operations positions. The position is located at the corporate office in Menomonee Falls, WI and is intended for a student seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time internship opportunity for the fall semester, depending on the candidate’s availability.
Responsibilities
- Support recruiting efforts primarily for operations positions across the organization
- Conduct initial phone screens with candidates to assess qualifications, experience, availability, and overall fit for open positions
- Review and screen resumes to identify qualified candidates
- Source candidates through job boards, recruiting platforms, social media, and other recruiting channels
- Research recruiting sources, trends, and practices within designated markets
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers
- Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the recruiting process
- Document candidate information and recruiting activity accurately within the applicant tracking system (ATS) and/or HRIS
- Partner with HR team members and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and support recruiting goals
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Seeking a student currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable communicating with candidates by phone and able to build rapport with a diverse range of individuals
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team
- Proactive, dependable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Professional and personable approach when interacting with candidates, hiring managers, and employees
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruiting software, or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) is a plus, but not required
