The starting pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 per hour. The full pay range is $24.00 - $40.80 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

This role provides experience in:
- Planning HR department workload to support business priorities
- Reading financial reports and interpreting data
- Following federal, state, and local employment laws
- Recruiting and event organization
- Using Microsoft Office Suite, workforce management programs, and scheduling software
- Leading a team of hourly HR Experts, including interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience.
- Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments.
- Actively observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align the team on execution.
- Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing Target practices, including onboarding, learning, and career growth; help close skill gaps through development and coaching.
- Support leaders in creating an inclusive environment where teams value diverse voices and approaches.
- Promote a strong training culture, including compliance training, by planning, tracking, and validating team member training.
- With guidance from store leaders, implement a schedule that meets the needs of guests and team members.
- Plan recruiting and staffing efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates with the right skills.
- Be approachable and available for the team, fostering a culture where team members feel heard and issues are resolved quickly.
- Deliver on all HR processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption.
- Execute a comprehensive orientation experience for new team members.
- With guidance from your leader, execute the store staffing strategy and implement recruiting efforts.
- Understand and reinforce store-specific employment laws and policies.
- Provide support for staffing systems, scheduling systems, and pay practices.
- Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
- Understand financial objectives to maximize profitability and plan work to achieve goals.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Lead and model a safety culture by recognizing safe behaviors, correcting hazards, and holding the team accountable.
- Support merchandise protection strategies across the store.
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities.
- Address all store emergency and compliance needs, including claims management and return-to-work programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Previous experience using automated scheduling, timekeeping, and workforce management applications preferred
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, and financial/quantitative analysis
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable
- Ability to communicate using multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Effective communication skills
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately
- Frequently lift or move merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance
- Climb up and down ladders as needed
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, overnights); reliable and prompt attendance necessary
Although the role is full-time, it does not guarantee 40 hours each week. Hours will depend on the needs of the business.
