General Responsibilities

To function as the Human Resource Partner (HRP) contact for a college, school, or large department of the University in coordination with the Office of Human Resources.

To independently manage human resources services to employees within a large, complex division(s), department(s), college or school.

To select applicants during the employment process.

To administer human resource policies and serve as a front-line advisor to department administrators regarding human resource issues.

To act as a liaison between the assigned department and the Office of Human Resources for all academic and non-academic human resource-related matters.

To ensure departmental compliance with university human resource policies and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as HR Partner for assigned departments, acting as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters and coordinating with central HR.
  • Manage recruitment and selection processes for faculty and staff, including job postings, candidate evaluation, and hiring recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with University HR policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across departments.
  • Care for personnel actions, including pay changes, reclassifications, performance appraisals, and employment status updates.
  • Maintain HR records and documentation.
  • Affirmatively respond to employee and leadership inquiries and resolve day-to-day HR issues using sound judgment and established procedures.

Salary Pay Range

$47,665 – $77,455

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required.
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
  • Related Degree Fields: Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Management, Public Administration, or related fields.
  • Related Experience: Experience in human resources roles involving employee relations, recruitment, HR policy administration, compliance, and providing consultative support to leadership, preferably within large or complex organizations.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • HR policy interpretation, recruitment and selection, employee relations, and HR systems/process management.
  • Effective communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, sound judgment, and the ability to influence and advise leadership.
  • A demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver high-quality customer service is strongly preferred.
