Human Resource Business Partner - Generalist
Job Summary
The Generalist, HR Business Partner will assist in/lead all HR functions in alignment with business objectives at the station level. This role will provide or assist with strategic, tactical, and operational support to field management teams with human resources generalist activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist and manage day-to-day station HR activities and counsel to employees, supervisors, and managers regarding all HR best practices, policy interpretation, policies, HR compliance and appropriate workplace conduct.
- Assist and serve as the liaison within assigned station(s) between corporate HR and frontline associates and management, being the first point of contact at station level for questions regarding legal and/or policies and procedures.
- Assist and serve as the liaison between associates, field management and corporate human resources.
- Maintain records and compile/disseminate statistical reports concerning employment-related data such as hires, terminations, performance reviews, unemployment claims and turnover and make recommendations for improved performance on all metrics.
- Ensure consistent application of all Swissport policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local law.
- Comply with external audits from regulatory agencies (Aviation Department, US Customs, TSA, and FAA).
- Comply with Department of Homeland Security rules and regulations doing internal audits to keep records up to date.
- Responsible to maintain records of employee uniforms (ordering, inventory and distribution).
- Conduct internal investigations and process unemployment claims.
- Absorb and prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports and conduct HR training as needed.
- Serve on special project teams as assigned.
- Comply with company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies.
Qualifications And Competencies
- HR Management Certificate / Bachelor’s Degree in related field/discipline or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years HR Generalist experience, able to travel 30%
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and practices
- Working knowledge of employee relations
- Working knowledge of all areas of human resources
- Basic knowledge of SharePoint and other Microsoft Office applications
- Able to analyze long-term implications of business decisions
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate position with clarity at all levels
- To provide a high level of service to internal and external customers
- High energy and high motivation, with tolerance for stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
- Great work ethic with a can-do, self-starting attitude
- Great interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
