About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Human Resources & Office Manager to support both people operations and day-to-day office coordination in Chesterfield, Virginia. This role is ideal for someone who can balance strategic HR oversight with hands-on administrative leadership in a fast-paced Oil & Gas Services environment. The successful candidate will help foster a well-organized workplace, maintain compliant HR practices, and support employees throughout the full employment lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Direct core human resources activities across hiring, orientation, employee transitions, payroll coordination, benefits support, and workplace relations.
- Oversee HRIS administration within Workforce Now, including applicant tracking, onboarding steps, employee data maintenance, and payroll-related workflows.
- Maintain adherence to employment requirements at the federal, state, and local levels, including documentation and reporting tied to affirmative action obligations.
- Create, refine, and communicate HR policies and procedures that align with business needs and encourage a positive employee experience.
- Partner with leaders across departments on staffing plans, performance discussions, and employee growth initiatives.
- Address employee concerns with professionalism, guide conflict resolution efforts, and help sustain a respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while following company standards and applicable regulations.
- Administer employee benefit programs such as medical coverage, retirement offerings, and related support services.
- Track HR data, prepare operational reports, and share insights that help leadership improve workforce decisions and internal processes.
- Manage office administration by coordinating supplies, vendor communication, travel arrangements, records retention, incoming calls, and visitor reception.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Working knowledge of HRIS platforms, with the ability to manage records, workflows, and reporting in a structured system environment.
- Strong understanding of employment law compliance and HR policy administration across federal, state, and local requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with managers and employees at all levels while handling sensitive matters with discretion.
- Proven organizational skills with the capacity to oversee office operations and prioritize a varied workload efficiently.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to support employees and prepare accurate documentation and reports.
- Experience improving administrative or workplace processes to support smoother daily operations.
- Detail-oriented and welcoming approach to handling front-office responsibilities such as answering calls and greeting visitors.
