About the role

The Human Resources Intern will support the HR department by assisting with administrative and operational tasks that enhance the employee experience and organizational effectiveness. This position offers a comprehensive introduction to HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. The intern will collaborate closely with HR professionals to streamline processes, ensure accurate record-keeping, and contribute to projects that improve workplace culture and employee engagement. The role aims to develop foundational HR skills while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and facilitating introductions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR information systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Help organize employee engagement activities and support internal communications to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Conduct research on HR policies and best practices to assist in the development and implementation of departmental initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic familiarity with HR information systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with labor laws and employment regulations in the United States.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) or HR management software.
