About the role
The Human Resources Intern at Master Center for Addiction Medicine is a part-time position with flexible hours (~20 hours per week) designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in human resource processes, recruitment, and retention.
Responsibilities
- Aids the Human Resources Director with writing and posting job ads.
- Maintains confidentiality and acts professionally in all circumstances.
- Screens applications, conducts phone prescreens, and schedules interviews.
- Conducts reference checks, employment verifications, and background checks.
- Develops and maintains relationships with recruiting sources.
- Assists with clerical tasks such as making copies, printing documents, and updating HR paperwork.
- Researches and implements efficient recruiting strategies.
- Collaborates with HR and hiring managers during the offer process.
- Prepares new employee files and assists with onboarding.
- Supports onboarding and training of new hires.
- Assists with organizing social events and wellness programs.
- Helps with credentialing and inventory management.
- Digitizes medical documentation and former employee files.
- Performs special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related field preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Interest in continued learning and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with job boards, social media, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits
This is an unpaid, part-time temporary internship with potential to transition to full-time employment at management's discretion.
