About the role
Darling Ingredients is looking for a dynamic, Human Resources Intern who is eager to learn about our company by assisting various departments. The Intern will engage in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable them to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level. They will receive training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
Responsibilities
- Fulfilling tasks set out by supervisors from various departments
- Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service
- Accepts designated, business-focused projects to research, propose ideas and solutions
- Attend meetings
- Present final project or presentation as requested by supervisor
- All other duties assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year college student or recent graduate
- Eager to learn and work with various departments in the company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to multitask
- Professionalism
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise level, strong odors, and/or exposure to heat and cold
- Exposed to bio hazardous conditions
- Exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations
- Exposed to electrical hazards; risk of electrical shock
- Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment
Physical Demands
- Frequently – Must be able to remain in a stationary position (Sit)
- Occasionally – Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location (Walk)
- Constantly – Operates a computer and other office machinery (Use hands to finger, handle or feel)
- Occasionally – Must be able to position one's self to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in the server closet (Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl)
- Occasionally – Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder (Climb or balance)
- Occasionally – Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions (Talk, hear, taste, smell)
- Occasionally – Up to 10 pounds
