About the role

Our client, a high-performing organization located in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist / HR Business Partner to join their team. This role is ideal for a proactive, solutions-oriented HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable handling both strategic and routine HR responsibilities, and has a strong foundation in employee relations and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to leaders and employees across multiple locations
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Administer and support leave programs, including FMLA
  • Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and labor regulations
  • Partner with leadership on HR initiatives, employee support, and organizational needs
  • Assist with HR reporting, documentation, audits, and process improvement efforts
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, training coordination, and other HR programs
  • Handle a mix of strategic and routine HR tasks with accuracy and urgency
  • Travel quarterly to support 5 multi-state locations, including occasional 2-night overnight travel and possible last-minute travel when needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience, including:
    • Employee Relations
    • FMLA administration
    • Supporting 250+ employees and/or multiple locations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • OR HR certificate with a minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state employment labor laws
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables is a plus
  • Strong initiative with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships and contribute as an engaged team member
  • Comfortable with routine tasks while maintaining a high level of performance
  • Ability to travel as needed on a quarterly basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday
  • Experience supporting multi-site, healthcare, nonprofit, manufacturing, professional services, or other fast-paced business environments
  • Background in employee engagement programs, compliance audits, training coordination, or HR process improvement
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR reporting tools
