We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to join a publicly traded organization in Miami, Florida on a contract basis. This role will provide critical support to the HR function during a period of limited team capacity, with a strong emphasis on managing employee relations matters and advising leaders through complex workplace issues.

The ideal candidate is confident working independently, comfortable making sound decisions in ambiguous situations, and able to keep pace in a fast-moving environment. Candidates who are knowledgeable about modern HR tools and emerging AI-enabled ways of working will be well-suited for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high volume of employee relations matters, guiding cases from initial intake through resolution with sound judgment and thorough documentation.
  • Partner with managers to address performance concerns, workplace conflicts, and sensitive employee situations in a timely and practical manner.
  • Conduct and support investigations related to employee complaints, policy concerns, and other complex HR issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide day-to-day HR partnership to business leaders by interpreting policy, advising on risk, and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Help reduce an existing backlog of employee relations cases by prioritizing urgent matters and driving steady progress across open issues.
  • Operate effectively in an environment with limited formal structure, using strong HR expertise to navigate nuanced situations and ambiguous circumstances.
  • Contribute to HR administration activities as needed to support business continuity during a contract staffing gap.
  • Apply efficient, technology-aware approaches to case management and HR support, including comfort with AI-informed tools where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, including ownership of complex cases from start to finish.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR policy interpretation, workplace investigations, and performance management practices.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced setting while handling competing priorities with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Proven skill in navigating sensitive issues independently, especially in environments where processes may be loosely defined.
  • Experience partnering with leaders and providing practical guidance on challenging people matters.
  • Background in human resources administration with the flexibility to support a broad range of HR activities.
  • Comfort using technology effectively in HR work, including openness to AI-related tools and evolving ways of working.
