About the role
The Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role partners with employees and leadership to support employee relations, compliance, talent development, onboarding, retention initiatives, HRIS administration, and employee engagement activities while ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable employment laws.
Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations matters by conducting investigations, resolving workplace issues confidentially, and supporting leaders with performance management, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions.
- Proactively identify workplace trends and partner with employees and managers to develop solutions while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality.
- Support leave administration processes, including FMLA, STD, and LTD, while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws such as FLSA, ADA, OSHA, and Workers’ Compensation regulations.
- Drive employee retention and engagement efforts by analyzing turnover trends, coordinating employee communication and engagement activities, and serving as a strong employee advocate.
- Manage HR operations including onboarding, HRIS administration, employee records maintenance, benefits support, and process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and employee experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field with 2–4 years of relevant HR experience, OR an Associate degree with 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment experience preferred, ideally supporting a 24/7 operation.
- PHR certification considered a plus.
- Strong employee relations, conflict resolution, and leave management experience with the ability to build trust, influence leaders, and support organizational change.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) in a fast-paced environment.
