About the Role
Provides support and may supervise some functional areas of human resources including recruitment and employment, compensation, employee relations, health and safety, wellness and benefit programs, team member services, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage the administration, communication, and reporting of the hotel's benefits program.
- Supervise the recruiting, selection, and placement activities for nonexempt personnel; initiate and maintain relationships with outside sources (e.g., Union Hiring Hall, colleges, student associations, employment agencies, recruiters).
- Submit weekly schedules to the Union and ensure Union Dues are paid accurately and timely.
- Submit required monthly reports to the Union and ensure data accuracy.
- Process requests for employment verification, unemployment claims, and Worker's Compensation claims.
- Monitor, communicate, and process all merit reviews and Status Change Forms relating to increases and review with Human Resources Director.
- Update and create internal communications.
- Ensure all necessary Human Resources paperwork and documentation is forwarded to appropriate hotel departments in a timely manner.
- Provide project support through development and execution of key processes, events, and initiatives.
- Assist in the planning, development, evaluation, implementation, and administration of human resources programs, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee compliance, monitoring, and maintenance of I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification records.
- Assist in the maintenance of affirmative action program; file EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Ensure all new hire paperwork is completed, including background checks, references, drug testing, I-9, and other documents required by hotel policy or law.
- Ensure all separation paperwork is completed, including unemployment notices and separation checklists.
- Assist Human Resources Director and Area Director of Human Resources to ensure team member relations activities happen regularly (e.g., birthday, holiday events, Colleague of the Month, Leader of the Quarter).
- Assist in the development and coordination of colleague recognition, safety, and well-being.
- Assist team members with HRIS self-service application, travel discount program, and similar tasks.
- Prepare reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organization needs.
- Perform day-to-day HR office tasks such as answering telephones, sending/responding to emails, scanning documents, filing, printing name tags and ID cards, ordering business cards.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company/hotel policies and procedures.
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel.
Supportive Functions
- Assist on applicant days and at job fairs with recruiting as needed.
- Assist with reports and preparation for training when needed.
Requirements

- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, with proficiency in Excel, and the ability to learn HRIS system.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Union environment.
- Luxury hotel experience.
Education
High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or human resources certification preferred.
Experience
At least 3 years’ experience in the administration of Human Resources programs such as engagement, recruitment, and leave of absence administration.
Pay
$73,600 - $77,000 annually
