About the role
Assist in providing human resources support to all assigned communities.
Responsibilities
- Assist each assigned community in complying with human resources related company policies, as well as all applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Work with each community management team to carry out Associate file audits.
- Attend and help plan All Staff and CMT meetings.
- Ensure consistent processes/policies are implemented across communities.
- Support Associates and managers with all human resources practices and programs.
- Assist hiring managers (and Recruiter) with posting open positions, screening resumes, assisting with the group interview process, and coordinating other interviews as needed.
- Partner with Recruiter to coordinate all pre-employment requirements.
- Manage post-hire procedures for all assigned communities, including the “first day essential” process and onboarding for new associate orientation program.
- Coordinate associate training programs and maintain training records.
- Coordinate and support all appropriate associate termination procedures; submit involuntary terminations for approval to Sr HR Supervisor.
- Work with Supervisor and Executive Director to investigate, address, and resolve Associate grievances and complaints.
- Monitor and respond to unemployment claims.
- Handle workers’ compensation claims with Supervisor and Executive Director.
- Coordinate all leaves of absence with Supervisor and Executive Director in accordance with applicable policies and laws.
- Communicate, coordinate, and assist associates with benefits (including open enrollment) and recognition programs.
- Ensure accuracy of associate data within HRIS system.
- Ensure all supervisors manage and approve timecards accurately and on-time.
- Distribute paychecks and conduct self-audits as appropriate.
Requirements
- 3-7 years of Human Resources generalist experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; BS/BA degree with coursework in business, human resources, or related field preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of computers/applications including Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including Microsoft Office applications, internet-based, and custom applications.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of state and federal employment regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM CP, or SHRM SCP certification preferred.
