About the Role

Under the general direction of the Senior HR Manager, the Human Resource Generalist will ensure all communications to restaurant Team Members are clear, proactive, and that all employees have an avenue for expressing questions or concerns. This position requires strong communication, organization, decision-making, and the ability to create and maintain positive relationships with Team Members to promote the Cooper’s Hawk brand and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a support to Regional Human Resource partners by:
    • Monitoring and managing HR Team Member Support Line voicemails and Ethics Point.
    • Completing intake calls with Team Members and managers.
    • Conducting structured, objective intake conversations by asking open, fair questions to fully understand each situation and determine the best way to assist.
    • Compiling and delivering organized, concise intake call summaries to the HR Manager and Area Director, highlighting key themes, insights, and action items.
    • Answering general policy/administration questions and coordinating cross-functionally with supporting departments as needed.
  • HR Case Notes Management:
    • Maintain and update confidential HR case notes, accurately reflecting employee relations issues, performance concerns, and other sensitive matters.
    • Track and report employee relation issues accurately and timely.
    • Follow current Employee Relations SOPs and processes to ensure consistency.
  • Process unemployment claims efficiently while maintaining accuracy and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Gather information, prepare firsthand witness, and attend Unemployment phone hearings as Cooper’s Hawk representative.
  • Administer Exit Interview Survey for all departing restaurant operation managers, including providing them the End of Employment FAQs and tracking completion of the survey.
  • Assist with critical annual projects including Community Survey, Team Member Handbook, Respect Training, and any Talent and Performance Management initiatives.
  • Ensure supporting documents are up to date (SOPs, job aids, rollout guides) for HR-related initiatives.
  • Identify Human Resource trends and opportunities to support continued business growth and ensure Cooper’s Hawk values are being upheld.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in a restaurant/retail environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to assess a situation and determine the best course of action, even with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
  • Facilitates collaboration between multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret reports and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is preferred.

Pay

Compensation Range: $70,000–$75,000. The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
