About the role
Responsible for assisting in the administration of new hires, data analytics, and providing support to employees related to their employment needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as procedures, policies, leaves, compensation, and resolve issues that may arise.
- Conduct employee onboarding and orientation.
- Assist in the updating and managing of HR systems to include the careers and records portals (TalendEd: Recruit and Records software).
- Answer telephone and provide caller with routine information and data, and assist in the promotion of good HR relations.
- Meet and/or interact daily with staff, other offices, and the general public.
- Provide backup support to the HR Assistant/Receptionist, Benefits Specialist, and HR Coordinator as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of data that may be of a privileged or sensitive nature.
- Compile and track data for state reporting and internal procedures as necessary for the Chief Human Resources Officer and/or the Chief Financial Officer.
- Post all new and vacated positions.
- Track all position activities which includes new positions, vacated positions, transfers, and additional jobs.
- Manage the onboarding, tracking, and process of extra-curricular positions and stipends.
- Work in collaboration with the payroll office to ensure timely processing of hires, transfers, terminations, and changes to staff throughout the district.
- Responsible for the data entry of all new hires and changes in the HRIS system (PowerSchool).
- Perform clerical and office work, including data entry, proofreading, filing, checking, and recording information with speed and accuracy.
- Process all classified retirement paperwork including calculating payouts.
- Process employment verification as needed.
- Maintain excellent telephone skills in a positive, friendly manner.
- Receive and process resignation letters and leave exception requests.
- Post jobs and forward applications to hiring administrators.
- Prepare yearly pay calendars and distribute as appropriate.
- Prepare return-to-work dates for office staff and distribute as appropriate.
- Track and process employee referral bonuses.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by administration.
Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in Human Resources or office administration required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field preferred.
- Proficient in use of office computer technology including HRIS, Microsoft Suite, and G-Suite.
- Strong math skills.
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Must remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace.
Pay
Pay Grade 17: $21.53 to $22.63 per hour (based on education and experience).
Schedule
260 days per year position.
