About the Role

The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Assistant HR Manager and works as part of a collaborative HR team. This role provides HR support to employee client groups, administers HR programs and policies, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, and delivers excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to employee questions, address concerns, and explain company benefits and programs.
  • Partner with managers on salary administration, attendance management, recognition, performance management, corrective action, promotions, onboarding, and exit processes.
  • Facilitate professional development training for supervisors and employees; coordinate the division’s annual training plan, including curriculum design and development as needed; and support compliance training requirements.
  • Conduct investigations related to operational and employee relations matters.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to managers.
  • Support annual goal setting, employee development planning, and the performance appraisal process.
  • Manage Kenworth’s annual week-long supervisory development training program.
  • Manage Kenworth’s Mentorship Program.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership to manage the Engineering Rotation Program.
  • Manage Kenworth’s annual service award recognition dinner.
  • Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, disability, PFML, workers’ compensation, and ADA accommodations.
  • Interpret and apply relevant policies and employment laws.
  • Oversee company charitable giving campaigns and other employee engagement programs.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on projects and initiatives that support organizational and divisional strategic priorities.
  • Provide backup support for the time and attendance management system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field required.
  • Three or more years of HR experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and practices, including FLSA, ADA, workers’ compensation, FMLA, HIPAA, and Affirmative Action Plans.
  • Experience facilitating, developing, and coordinating training programs preferred.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting and Learning modules preferred.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; Visio and SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement.

Pay

The salary range for the Human Resources Generalist is $80,800 – $120,800 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
