Maintained Duties

  • Maintains confidentiality on all matters that are the concern of the Department of Human Resources.
  • Acts as back up to the Benefits Specialist.
  • Handles daily aspects of employee benefit programs, including, but not limited to, health insurance, voluntary benefits, Pension and FSA.
  • Computes employee benefit entitlements during leaves.
  • Responds to leave requests in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Processes leave related forms, monitors claims paid and keeps informed of all laws / changes regarding disability.
  • Manages leave insurance premium payments, insuring appropriate employee contributions according to policy guidelines.
  • Addresses questions and concerns related to the benefit program.
  • Reviews employee incident reports, noting Worker's Compensation cases and following through with the employee and Worker's Compensation, as necessary.
  • Completes and submits necessary paperwork to Workers Compensation carrier, such as C-2 forms, C-11 forms, and C-240 forms.
  • Reviews OSHA log of incident reports and posts according to established guidelines.

Coordination Duties

  • Captures and coordinates open enrollment meetings with all organization locations.
  • Coordinates monthly new hire orientation.
  • Affords assistance in department audits of HR and payroll information to ensure compliance.
  • Affords assistance in recruitment, as needed.
  • Affords assistance in the coordination and implementation of special programs.
  • Affords assistance in standardizing the methods in which tasks will be accomplished.

Requirements

  • Formal education required: Must possess, a minimum (4) years of college or equivalent work experience.
  • BA degree in Human Resources, Health Services or related field preferred.
  • Previous Experience Required: Minimum of (1) year Human Resources related experience is preferred.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning personnel administration.
