WinnCompanies is seeking an organized and customer service-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support our military team at Fort Drum Mountain Community Homes, a 3,985-unit military housing community in Fort Drum, NY. This role also provides remote support for our CO and CA sites.
About the role
You will provide talent acquisition support, execute weekly payroll activities, serve as a liaison for leaves of absence, and ensure thorough new hire onboarding. A REAL ID-compliant driver’s license/ID is required to access the federal facility effective May 7, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational talent acquisition support: post open requisitions, review and screen applications/resumes, schedule interviews, create offer letters, and complete administrative support for site leadership and the MHS corporate recruiter.
- Initiate candidate background screens via a third-party provider for review, verification, and adjudication by the Employee Relations team.
- Assist in onboarding new employees in accordance with Winn policies.
- Serve as a liaison with corporate benefits for leave status tracking and facilitate on-site support for workers’ compensation.
- Attend hiring events to build relationships with local trade schools.
- Perform payroll-related duties, including weekly/bi-weekly payroll transactions, status changes, timesheet processing, and payroll reminders.
- Assist employees in finding HR information and support managers in all aspects of the quarterly bonus program.
- Coordinate, track, and implement the company’s training programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3–5 years of relevant work experience in recruiting and human resources support.
- Experience in recruiting strategies, candidate orientation, and onboarding.
- Current driver’s license in good standing, meeting the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and various computer systems.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship-building, and communication.
- REAL ID-compliant driver’s license/ID required to access the federal facility effective May 7, 2025.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- 1–3 years of human resources or administrative experience.
- Knowledge of New York State paid family leave processes.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Pay
$20.39–$24.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday through Friday.
