About The Role
The HR Coordinator at The Shade Store plays a key role in supporting the People team by ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all HR functions. This includes collaborating with Talent Acquisition to ensure a seamless experience for candidates, assisting with onboarding, managing HRIS profiles, and resolving team member inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure a seamless experience as candidates become team members, including: assist with job postings and candidate screenings, prepare and extend candidate offer paperwork, initiate background checks, and oversee the pre-hire onboarding process.
- Welcome and document new team members through support with orientation sessions, new hire paperwork, I-9 verification, electronic document filing, and issuing HR FAQ documents.
- Maintain ongoing communication with hiring managers to ensure a successful onboarding process beyond the first week.
- Perform administration tasks such as HRIS profile maintenance and reporting, employment verifications, draft and deliver employment correspondence, and address general questions related to PTO, sickness, and absence.
- Partner with People team colleagues to resolve daily inquiries related to company policies and team member relation situations.
- Deliver empathetic outreach to team members by going above and beyond to provide exceptional care and internal customer service in every interaction.
- Aid in team member engagement initiatives onsite and company wide.

- Assist the People Business Partners in driving a performance management process, encouraging continuous feedback, transparency, and impactful career development.
- Own the team member offboarding by initiating exit surveys, IT equipment deactivation and retrieval, final paperwork coordination, and addressing general questions.
- Own and support People team projects as needed.
Requirements
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in HR or Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required.
- Highly passionate about HR, talent growth, and people development.
- 2+ years HR experience, preferably in an in-person and/or multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of basic employment law and HR compliance requirements.
- Proven ability working in an HRIS (Paycom experience is a plus).
- Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, empathy, and sound judgement.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
- Creative outlook and ideas on improving the team member experience - you are a problem solver and think proactively.
- Articulate and professional communicator who thrives on building and fostering relationships.
- Experience with Microsoft Office & Outlook.

The base salary range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hour.
