About the role

We are looking for an organized Human Resources Assistant to support daily HR operations in Los Angeles, California. This Human Resources Assistant position will help maintain employee records, coordinate onboarding documentation, and provide administrative assistance across a range of personnel activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable handling confidential information, and able to keep multiple tasks moving efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process check requests and record related expenses accurately within budget tracking processes.
  • Assemble and prepare onboarding packets and personnel folders for incoming employees.
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee files and HR documentation while safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Support the administration of benefits programs and assist employees during enrollment and related updates.
  • Respond to employee questions involving pay, benefits, and compensation matters with clear and timely guidance.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including introducing employees to payroll processes and available benefits.
  • Handle background screening, occupational health documentation, I-9 processing, and other employment compliance activities.
  • Prepare unemployment insurance paperwork and respond to related administrative requests from external agencies or representatives.
  • Support offboarding activities by processing termination-related steps and distributing required exit documents.
  • Respond to employee inquiries through the HR ticketing system with a strong customer service focus and timely follow-up.
  • Draft and distribute routine HR correspondence and provide additional administrative support for shared services projects as assigned.
