About the role

Primary Job Function: Assist the Human Resources Department & Talent Development with daily activities. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by Management.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the daily operation of the Department including: ID Badges, Creation of various flyers and postings, Assistance to Associates with basic questions, Filing (medical & personnel), Copying (new hire packets, benefit packets, skills assessments, job postings, newsletter, etc.), Entering requisitions in Plex for office supplies, HRIS & PLEX entry & verification, Filing including purging, scanning and filing active/inactive associate files, Planning Company Events and Projects, Providing various HR forms to Associates, Creating new employee badges and ordering uniforms as necessary, Other duties as requested by Management.
  • Schedule and process all travel arrangements, Reconciling credit card statement for V.P. of Administration and submitting to Finance, Assisting in organizing company events, recreational activities, luncheons, visitor receptions, etc., Greeting visitors at HR window and delegating to appropriate HR Staff, Delivering interoffice mail to the appropriate departments, Verifying attendance in PLEX and administering all types of Paid Time Off approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or pursuing) in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Employee relations experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Human Resources laws, policies, procedures and terms.
  • Conformance to confidentiality requirements concerning employee information and company-sensitive information.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers and cross-functionally with partners outside of the team to enable high performance.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment (copy, fax, telephone).

Qualifications

  • Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional bending and reaching.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a phone and computer keyboard.

Skills

  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.
  • Travel within the US and Canada up to 5%, usually travel is throughout SE Michigan.
