About The Role
The Human Resources/Fiscal Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Campus Services at UAA. This full-time, term-funded position is responsible for coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes for new and returning employees, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures. The coordinator serves as a key resource for departments, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Additionally, the role involves providing fiscal support to the Senior Fiscal Officer, assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, and handling routine financial and administrative tasks. The position requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in applied accounting, business administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in HR, finance, or administrative support roles.
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, including accounts receivable, general ledger, and program/activity codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Google applications.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Able to manage multiple tasks independently and exercise sound judgment in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and working effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of FERPA and Title IX regulations.
- Experience with payroll and personnel procedures is desirable.
- Certification requirements to be completed within 30 days of hire, including FERPA, Title IX, Behavior-Based Safety, Workplace Harassment Prevention, and PCI compliance certifications.
Responsibilities
- Cook up recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for campus staff, ensuring timely and compliant procedures.
- Serve as an advisory resource to departments regarding university HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Aid in daily accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Compile, analyze, interpret, and report financial and HR data to support decision-making and compliance.
- Perform general office duties, including word processing, database management, filing, and handling multi-line telephone inquiries.
- Support fiscal and purchasing policy adherence, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations such as FERPA and Title IX, ensuring departmental compliance.
- Participate in required certifications and ongoing professional development to stay current with policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency and customer service standards.
