Human Resources Coordinator

About the role
This position often serves as the initial point of contact for employees across campus. The HR Coordinator assists all new employees with completing onboarding paperwork, signing up for new employee orientation, and answering basic benefits and payroll questions. This position also responds to internal and external HR requests and directs calls and emails to the appropriate HR team. This position is full-time on-site, with no remote options.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for employees across campus

Requirements
- Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
- An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
- Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general clerical experience
- College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
- Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Understanding of and commitment to excellent customer service
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer and alpha/numeric data entry skills, including the proven ability to process detailed data quickly with a high level of accuracy
- Highly organized and efficient worker; skilled at multi-tasking and an eye for process improvement
- Basic HR knowledge
- Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and different communications styles
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a large, complex organization
- Experience using an HRIS system

Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, fully onsite
Pay
The starting hourly rate for this position will be $19.36 – $21.91 an hour but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon experience, skills, knowledge, market parity, internal equity, and the budget of the hiring department.
