About the Role

Under the direction and guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes for the Tribal Government, Rolling Hills Clinic, Paskenta Mad River Brewing, Paskenta Brewery & Distillery, and other non-gaming Tribal Enterprises. This role acts as a liaison between employees and the Human Resources Department, providing direct support to Employee Relations, Recruiting, and Training functions. The position also offers administrative support, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.

Responsibilities

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assists in completing Forms I-9, verifying I-9 documentation, and maintaining I-9 files.
  • Processes departmental purchases in accordance with policy.
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR files or programs as assigned.
  • Assists with processing terminations and maintaining files according to retention standards.
  • Supports the preparation of the performance review process when requested.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview processes, tracking candidate status in HRIS, and sending follow-up letters.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews, manages employee files, and performs clerical tasks such as photocopying, mailing, scanning, and emailing documents.
  • Prepares new-employee files, validates initial records, and processes mail.
  • Maintains HIPAA certification and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Plans, organizes, and supports Human Resources departmental functions and employee events.
  • Prepares annual schedules for employee events, manages communications, attendance, and budget records.
  • Assists the HR Manager with tracking employment relation issues and reporting trends.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited College or University with major coursework in business, human resources, or related field, plus 2 years of experience, or 5 years of experience working in a Human Resources Department.
  • Certified fingerprint roller or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
  • THRP certified or ability to attain certification within the first year of employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources practices and protocols.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid driver's license.

Requirements

  • Pre-employment Drug Testing and Department of Justice Fingerprinting clearance through Federal, State, and Child Abuse Index.
  • Local travel is regularly required; out-of-state travel is occasionally required.

Physical Demands

The employee must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee must stoop and lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with low to moderate noise levels. Standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines are routinely used. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
